Kyla Hallums is a traveling dance teacher, empowerment guide, and certified somatics practitioner based in Nashville, TN. Since 2021, she has led nine international retreats (and counting), creating transformative experiences where people can break through barriers and step fully into their power.
With a background in dance, somatics, and embodiment, Kyla’s approach is simple: she helps you reconnect with yourself through movement, breath, and self-reflection. Whether it’s learning to dance, easing fears, or embracing self-love, she provides a supportive space for you to uncover and celebrate your truest self.
A lifelong lover of social dancing—especially Salsa and Bachata—Kyla brings a playful, grounded energy to everything she teaches. She is passionate about guiding others to embrace their bodies, release limiting beliefs, and express themselves with joy and confidence. Her retreats are known to be life-changing, inviting participants to arrive with an open heart, ready for transformation.
Above all, Kyla’s mission is to help you embody your power and love yourself more deeply.

Franky has been with us since day one, and the retreat simply wouldn’t be the same without him. Beyond his role as a teacher, he is our trusted partner on the ground in the Dominican Republic—helping with organization, logistics, and all the moving pieces that make the experience possible. His support, presence, and deep care for the community allow everything to flow with ease.
Franky is not only part of our staff, he’s part of the heart of this retreat. His dedication and love have shaped Muévete from the beginning, and we are so grateful to have him walk alongside us in creating these transformative spaces.

A Special Thank You to Bethany Joy
Bethany Joy was my partner for the first two editions of Muévete, and our collaboration—born from a shared passion and deep love for what we do—absolutely shaped the trajectory of this retreat. As a seasoned retreat owner and operator with over 10 years of experience, Bethany brought wisdom, heart, and guidance that taught me so much and helped lay the foundation for what Muévete has become. We made so many memories over 3 amazing editions together.
Although Bethany is no longer with Muévete, focusing on her own retreats and endeavors, it’s important to honor her contributions and the lasting impact she’s had on this journey. Her spirit and mentorship continue to inspire the heart of Muévete.
Ros began her journey with us as a retreat participant in 2022, and over time she morphed from intern to an integral part of our staff. Her massive laugh has brightened every Baila with Kyla retreat since then, bringing joy and energy wherever she goes.
Wearing many hats on Muévete, Ros keeps our community connected, ensures moments are beautifully captured, and supports behind the scenes to make everything run smoothly. Simply put, without her, the rooms would be a little dimmer and the magic a little harder to share.
Frida Mark — Operations Manager
Frida has been with us from day one, and I affectionately call her my Swedish secret weapon. She quietly holds so much of what makes Muévete run smoothly—handling details, solving problems, and keeping everything flowing with grace. Beyond her incredible efficiency, it’s her warmth, calm presence, and generous heart that truly make her indispensable. Frida’s spirit is woven into every corner of the retreat, and we wouldn’t be who we are without her.
